GWC Earns Cognia Accreditation

George Washington Carver STEM Academy for Boys has earned accreditation with merit and STEM certification from the Cognia Global Commission.

Cognia is a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, systems, education service providers, and state education agencies. Accreditation provides a nationally recognized mark of quality that demonstrates to our community a school’s commitment to excellence, a willingness to enact meaningful change based on evaluation and feedback, and a desire to be the best it can be for students.

Cognia recognizes schools that meet rigorous performance standards based on four key characteristics: Culture of Learning, Leadership for Learning, Engagement of Learning, and Growth in Learning. Those in good standing can maintain their accreditation for six years.
